Meet the Most Interesting People: Part 3
I got a phone call one day from someone who worked in a large company.
“We need your (company’s) invoices!” he exclaimed.
I snapped to and started running the order history program. I checked the data for the past year and could not find any sale. I checked the previous year and still no sale appeared. On a whim I checked the past five years data and still could not find any record of a sale.
I apologized to the person at the other end and asked him if he could provide a reference against which I could check my records of the goods they had purchased for which invoices were required.
“We’ve made no purchases from your company,” he declared matter of factly. “We just need your invoices as we have reported to our buyer that we have used your product for compliance purposes. We would never actually use your product. It’s too expensive.”
