Your sales targets are nearly met, you’ve got orders in the pipeline, deliveries on the move and payments are coming in. Make sure you celebrate your successes with your team.
Your sales team looks up to you for inspiration and at times of happiness, you should share some time with them to celebrate your successes. Share the stories of what went well, how the team achieved their successes, how they won the contracts, how they created customers, how they made relationships.
Make it a time for sharing stories. Like fishermen who like to tell stories of how they caught that elusive fish, sales people also love the opportunity to share how they achieved success chasing their prospects. Gather your team and identify success stories they want to share. Give them the opportunity to provide their insights. Help them refine the stories so they hold a universal appeal. Then ask them to share it with their team members.
Many people will get an opportunity to learn. Many will love the opportunity to mingle and share anecdotes. Many would share pointers on how to further improve performance. The team would gain energy from their interaction and be more charged for next year.
