Good employees take care of their health.

Being healthy means that you are on the job and are able to perform at your peak. If you’re unhealthy, it means that you will not be able to focus on what you have to do and in some cases you will also have to take days off.

Being healthy does not mean not being sick alone. It also means that you should be in a general good state of health. In order to maintain your health you need to pick up some healthy habits.

Follow the doctor’s advice and prescription.

Find time to exercise. No matter how busy you are you are going to find time for lunch. Make it a habit to go for a 5-10 minute walk in your lunch break or climb the stairs in your office for a good cardio workout. It’s not difficult to find ways to move about. All you need is the will to do it.

Even while working you can find time to get off your chair. The Pomodoro Technique is one way which is sworn by. Another method could be to set up your phone to buzz every hour and you could go get a drink. This will benefit you in 2 ways; it will get you moving and it will make sure you stay hydrated.

Try to adopt healthy eating habits. Rather than go for greasy fast foods, try to bring packed lunches to your office. (This will also be easier on your pocket book). Try to include fruits and salads in your lunch routine and ditch the soda for water.

Make sure you get a good night’s sleep. If you skimp on sleep you feel less energized the next day and are less likely to follow your health habits.

Doing all this will not only ensure good health, it will also show in your work as you give better outputs on time.
